The Opportunity for In-Building mmWave: High bandwidth, low latency
5G networks are the next step forward in mobile/cellular networks. Eventually, 5G networks will replace the existing 4G LTE networks and re-use the same spectrum. But initially, the first 5G networks have been based on millimeter-wave and mid-band spectrum. While 5G networks have exclusively been deployed outside in the U.S., the next question is obviously ‘when will mmWave 5G networks be deployed in-building?”
This white paper discusses mmWave spectrum and the benefits and disadvantages of using it for in-building wireless. The white paper also highlights potential use cases for mmWave solutions in commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities and stadiums, and introduces the SOLiD RocketWAVE mmWave solution.
